Project Overview

The database is built based on the research products of "Comprehensive Exploration of Drug Targets Based on Multilayer/Integrative Disease Omics Analyses," performed in the "Program for Promotion of Fundamental Studies in Health Sciences" supported by NIBIO (the National Institute of Biomedical Innovation) in 2010-2015.In the Japanese population, there are a series of common diseases with urgent need for new drug targets and its development. In this research project, we collected clinical data and samples in the national centers that provide advanced and specialized medical care for the diseases. The clinical samples were analyzed by genome, epigenome, transcriptome, proteome and metabolome and the omics data were integrated with clinical data (multilayer/integrative disease omics analyses). The candidates for drug targets were intensively explored and identified through the comprehensive analyses.The research project was proceeded on each omics analysis as below.

In this research, exploration of drug targets is performed by genomic information. Mitochondrial and human genome is analyzed by SNP array and NGS depending on the character of diseases.

In this research, exploration of drug targets is performed by metabolomic information. Ionic and hydrophobic metabolites are analyzed by mass spectrometer with different type of separation. Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy is applied to the analysis of metabolites with high concentration.
